The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they are expecting a baby in Spring 2019. The news that the Duchess is pregnant comes one day after the couple touched down in Australia to start their Royal Tour.
The world woke up to the “fantastic” news after a statement was released from Kensington Palace. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
On Friday, Prince Harry, 34 and Meghan 37, returned to the same church they wed in at Windsor Castle earlier this year in May to watch Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie marry Jack Brooksbank. Speculation of the pregnancy mounted after Meghan stepped out wearing a Givenchy overcoat shadowing her dress.
It is assumed that Meghan is around the 12 week stage of her pregnancy. Pregnancies are typically not announced for this duration because of the increased rates of miscarriage before this mark.
The Queen along with other members of the royal family, are said to be “delighted” for the couple, whose newborn will be 7th in line to throne.
Prince Harry and Meghan are currently in Australia before travelling to New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga on a tour that will last two weeks.
