Local gallery open for donations to aid Grenfell Tower residents


Griffin Gallery, located a few streets away from Grenfell Tower and the site of the catastrophic fire that broke out last night, is collecting donations of food, water, clothes and toiletries.

They have already been overwhelmed by donations from local charities, supermarkets and residents and are open to receiving as much as possible.

The gallery will close for donations at 7pm today and will reopen tomorrow at 9am. The number to reach the gallery on is 020 8424 3203. The gallery is located on 21 Evesham St, London W11 4AJ.

Other aid points include:

St Clement’s Church – clothes, food and water available for those affected. They now only want baby clothes and nappies, and say they will work out what else they need later.

Hammersmith & Fulham Food Bank – Food

Harrow Centre, Freston Rd – An emergency rest centre has been opened for those now homeless.

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Fulham football clubs – have offered their help to those left homeless by the blaze.

The Rugby Portobello Trust – is also acting as a rest centre, but only for evacuated people. Friends and families are asked not to go there.
