Everyone Active, which operates Paddington Recreation Ground, Little Venice Leisure Centre, Jubilee Sports Centre and Queen Mother Sports Centre in partnership with Westminster City Council, is hosting a free disability open day at Jubilee Sports Centre on February 18 from 10am –2pm. They are also offering sports activity camps at several leisure centres in Westminster during February half term.
The Disability Open Day is open to people of all ages and abilities to come a take part in a variety of adapted sports including; polybat, boccia, basketball, tennis, gym and more. These sports are adapted to break down barriers those with disabilities may face when taking part in sport.
For many parents, it can be a struggle to keep children active and entertained during half term holidays. Everyone Active will also be offering activity camps including everything from football to tennis, as well as a multi-sports camp, at Paddington Recreation Ground so there’s something for everyone. This is priced at £56 for the entire week, or £30 for the week with a Resident Card. Little Venice Leisure Centre will be hosting Badminton England’s SMASHUP for £5.50 a day. Jubilee Sports Centre and Queen Mother Sports Centre will both be offering Fit for Sport camps.
“At Everyone Active we are committed to inclusivity,” says Everyone Active Community Development Co-ordinator, Nicole Fox. “We are thrilled to be offering these sessions to hopefully give people with disabilities confidence in exercise and show them what they can achieve. Additionally, as part of our ongoing commitment to getting kids active, we are excited to be running half term activity camps for local children.”
