The devastating earthquake in Nepal has claimed over 5,000 lives and counting. Rescuers are still trying to reach some of the remote mountain villa with injured survivors still waiting.
It’s easy to feel helpless in the wake of such a disaster but international rescue crews are swarming into Nepal to help the relief effort. They are there building emergency shelters, flying helicopters into the mountains to drop medical supplies and airlift survivors.
For families living on the edge of poverty, the impact of losing a home or a livelihood can last for decades. In some places, nearly three quarters of the homes have been destroyed. The Disasters Emergency Committee, Nepal, are working on the ground trying to save lives as well as helping to rebuild lives.
This organisation has the skills and the determination to deal with a crisis like this but urgently need money to do it. If you want to give something to the organisation this is where you can.
